Some days remind us why service feels so powerful. Today was one of those days.
At Rotary Bhawan, Biratnagar, the Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown proudly distributed 56 bicycles to inspiring women and girl students from different parts of Morang who travel 3–5 km every day just to reach school or work. For many of them, this bicycle is not just a cycle.
It means less exhaustion, more time for studies, greater safety, and new confidence. And at the same time, it means choosing a cleaner, greener way to move, caring for our planet while empowering women. 🌱
This meaningful initiative was made possible with the generous support of MetLife Insurance, whose commitment to community impact helped turn this idea into reality. We are deeply grateful to Mr. Ankit Rajbhandari and Mr. Ritendra Karki for their continuous encouragement and support in making this project successful.
We were also honoured by the presence of Mr. Naveen Manandhar, Head of the Microfinance Department at MetLife Insurance, along with Mr. Bishnu Kafle and Mr. Niranjan Budhathoki, whose presence made the occasion even more special. Seeing the smiles of these determined women and young students today reminded us that sometimes true empowerment begins with two wheels and a little push forward.
Together, we are not only supporting education and livelihoods — we are also taking a small but meaningful step toward a healthier planet.
