Cerebral palsy – 'मस्तिष्क पक्षाघात' is the most commonly occurring deformity/disability in the world — nearly 17 million persons are suffering from it. Nepal has more than 70,000 CP cases, of which Purwanchal has around 2,500 registered cases. Morang has around 500 cases and Biratnagar metropolitan city has over 125 cases.

The magnitude of the problem and the fact that no help was available for them led us to start this project. The CP Day Care Center was started in Year 2012 with the technical support and guidance of SGCP, Kathmandu and अभिभावक समूह which takes care of day-to-day work of the center.

Cerebral Palsy is a permanent and non-progressive condition — most importantly, there is no known cure. The afflicted person has abnormal motor function, affecting their ability to move and control movements. They may also experience difficulty with speech, bladder and bowel control. Depending on severity, intellectual development may also be affected.
