As part of its focus on Disease Prevention and Treatment, the Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown initiated the Rotary Arogya Mission, aiming to conduct health programs every month throughout the Rotary Year. In July, the club organized a Pediatric Health Check-Up Camp in collaboration with Birat Nursing Home. A dedicated team of eight medical professionals, including three doctors, provided their services during this camp.
The camp was held at Shree Janta Bal Adharbhut Vidyalaya, Jehda, benefiting 350 students from the adopted school. This initiative addressed the high prevalence of malnourishment among rural children by conducting thorough diagnoses of various illnesses. Additionally, discounted treatment options were provided to the students requiring medical attention.
Fruits and juice were distributed to the children after the health check-up, ensuring a holistic approach to promoting their well-being. Certificates of Appreciation, adorned with the principles of Rotary’s Four-Way Test, were presented to the doctors in recognition of their contributions, further strengthening Rotary’s public image.
The total cost of this impactful project was 15,200 NPR, demonstrating Rotary’s unwavering commitment to improving the health and lives of underprivileged children.
