This project focuses on empowering women and girl students by providing bicycles to ease their daily commute to schools, workplaces, and markets. At the same time, it promotes an eco-friendly mode of transportation that contributes to environmental protection by reducing dependence on motorized vehicles. The initiative combines women empowerment, education support, health benefits, and environmental sustainability.

Beneficiaries: Women and girl students from Jhoda, Barju, Dhuni, Bakhri, and Kharji areas of Morang

• Distance travelled by beneficiaries daily: 3–5 km or more
• Selection coordinated with RCCs, local leaders, women groups, schools, and municipalities
• Women who are primary earners or single women from low-income families
• Girl students studying in government schools and collegeswho walk long distances daily to attend school

Sustainability

Bicycles are a long-term, low-maintenance, and eco-friendly mode of transport. Beneficiaries can use them for several years for education, employment, and household responsibilities. By encouraging cycling, the project promotes a sustainable lifestyle, reduced carbon footprint, and continued empowerment of women through mobility and accessibility.
