This initiative by Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown  focused on skill development and economic empowerment of female inmates at Biratnagar Jail.

The training was specially designed to teach participants the complete process of making, packaging, and preparing cleaning products—Harpic, Liquid Hand Wash, and Phenyl—for future sale and income generation.

It represents Rotary’s commitment to transforming lives by giving women second chances and dignity through self-reliance.

Training Components:

 Demonstration and hands-on training on making Harpic, Phenyl, and Liquid Hand Wash

 Packaging and labeling guidance

 Distribution of printed recipe cards with Rotary emblem and club logo

 

Rotary Merchandise Distribution:

 Rotary-branded bags and table calendars given to both the trainer and the jailor

 An initiative where we give female teachers and trainers a platform to contribute to women’s economic empowerment

Beneficiaries

  116 female inmates of Biratnagar Jail, who received practical training on making cleaning products that can be produced and sold for income generation

Female trainer, who was provided a platform to contribute her skills toward social good and earn as a trainer.

 Empowered 116 women with new livelihood skills, offering them dignity, confidence, and hope.

 Encouraged female trainers to contribute to social welfare and economic empowerment initiatives alongwith their own empowerment.

 Strengthened Rotary’s reputation as a club that creates sustainable, skill-based impact.

 Promoted self-reliance among inmates through production of marketable goods.

 Enhanced Rotary’s visibility through use of branded recipe cards, bags, and calendars.

 

Sustainability

 The learned inmates can continue making these products for internal use or small-scale sales under supervision of the jail authority.

 The jail administration has shown interest in continuing such vocational training in collaboration with Rotary.

 The recipe cards will serve as a lasting guide for continued production and skill retention.
