“Bin it Win it – Clean Biratnagar Drive” is an innovative cleanliness initiative by Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown, aimed at promoting civic responsibility and sustainable waste management in Biratnagar.

The project stands out for its unique approach — installing bins not only in public spaces but also in city rickshaws, ensuring cleanliness on the move and encouraging behavioral change among citizens.

Support

The project received generous sponsorship support of Rupees one Lakh from Toyota Nepal, facilitated by Mrs. Ritu Singh Baidya, whose contribution played a key role in the successful implementation of the project.Rotary members and friends of the club also contributed through active participation and logistical support.

Beneficiaries

 Citizens of Biratnagar, who will now have access to cleaner public spaces and rickshaw rides free from litter.

 City sanitation workers, who will benefit from better waste collection infrastructure.

 Local community members and daily commuters encouraged to adopt responsible waste disposal habits.

 Visible reduction in littering in key city areas and public transport.

 Raised awareness about personal responsibility in keeping the city clean.

 Enhanced collaboration between the municipal authorities, private sector, and Rotary for community well-being.

 Positive media coverage highlighting Rotary’s leadership in civic initiatives.

 Distributed Rotary merchandise cloth bags, snack boxes, and Rotary-themed table calendars to guests, media, and workers to promote Rotary’s mission and values.

Sustainability

 Awareness campaigns and follow-up activities will continue under the Clean Biratnagar Drive banner to ensure long-term impact.

 The project will serve as a model for replication in nearby wards and municipalities.
