The Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown, in collaboration with Ramlal Golchha Eye Hospital and Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, organized a Free Eye-Screening Camp at Magic Footwear Factory, Biratnagar, Morang, running from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 8 Downtown members were present at the campsite, contributing a total of 7 volunteer hours.
A total of 245 patients were screened during the camp, with 2 patients referred for further hospital treatment and evaluation. 68 patients requiring near-vision correction were provided with reading glasses on site, at a cost of Rs. 5,100/-. Patients requiring further care were also given eye medications at the campsite, at a cost of Rs. 5,800/-, fully borne by the Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown.
Certificates, tokens of love, and food were distributed to attendees and supporting staff, at a cost of Rs. 550/-.
The camp was organized within a total budget of Rs. 15,700/-, benefiting 245 people.
Overall, the camp increased awareness about regular eye check-ups and eye health within the community, reaffirming the Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown’s commitment to accessible and affordable healthcare.
