The Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown organized a meaningful Tree Plantation Programme on 12th August 2026 at Debenara Agro Industry, Dhamabandi Village, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and encouraging families to grow fruit-bearing trees.
A total of 117 saplings — including litchi, guava, and other fruit plants — were planted during the programme. The initiative directly benefited 10 families, providing them with plants that will contribute to a greener environment as well as future fruit production.
The programme was made possible through the generous support of Senior Rotarian Benigopal Mundara, who donated plants worth Rs. 25,000/-. The team enjoyed a memorable visit to the agro industry, appreciating its serene and beautiful environment — further enriched by the presence of around 150 cows on the premises, which added warmth and charm to the occasion.
Beyond planting trees, the programme symbolized the planting of seeds for a healthier, greener future for the community — a joyful and purposeful experience for all involved.
Overall, the initiative successfully promoted a strong message of environmental responsibility and sustainable living within the community.
