Supporting Rehabilitation through Cuff Weights

The Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown supported the children of the CP Day Care Center at Sabita Child and Neurological Rehabilitation Centre by providing cuff weights for use during physiotherapy and occupational therapy sessions.

A total of 6 pairs of cuff weights were provided, comprising 500g × 2, 1000g × 2, and 2000g × 2. The weights are designed to be comfortably secured around a child’s wrist or ankle using a Velcro/strap cuff and are used under proper therapeutic guidance.

These therapy aids provide controlled resistance during specific exercises, helping children strengthen weak muscles, improve coordination and stability, develop better control of arm and leg movements, and progress through their rehabilitation journey.

The initiative directly benefited 12 children with cerebral palsy, providing an additional therapy resource at no cost to the centre or the beneficiaries.
