The Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown implemented the Happy School Project on 13th August 2026 at Shree Bal Laxmi Basic School, Jahada-3, Hatibandha, Morang, Nepal. The school caters to students from Kindergarten to Grade 5, serving children aged 3–11 years, under the leadership of Principal Mr. Baleshwar Rajbanshi. The school has a total enrollment of 105 students — 45 boys and 60 girls.
As part of the initiative, the club developed a safe, enjoyable, and engaging outdoor playground for the students, comprising 3 swings, 1 seesaw, 1 slide, and 1 turntable. The equipment was constructed using durable fiberglass materials, supported by strong metal frameworks and secure anchors, ensuring suitability for long-term outdoor use with proper maintenance.
The project was carried out at a total cost of Rs. 160,500/-, directly benefiting all 105 students of the school.
The initiative aims to provide children with a happy and stimulating school environment, encourage physical activity and play, and make coming to school a more enjoyable experience — reflecting the guiding philosophy that “a happy child learns better, plays better, and grows better.”
